The Yardbirds – gigs in 2010

Sadly, only 2 gigs in January and 1 in February. Unfortunately the Yardbirds French tour has been been cancelled, which is a real shame as I was looking forward to touring one of my favourite countries. However, we did play a slightly random gig in a place called Marc-en-Baroeul, near Lille. The room was more-or-less half-full, and punters did say there was very little advertising for this show. Nevertheless we were very warmly received. Here’s a review of the gig.

Last night The Yardbirds played to a packed house of around 3000 appreciative Blues fans in Skegness. We finally got on stage at just before midnight and the crowd stayed put which was great, especially as The Yardbirds are not strictly a Blues band per se (actually, we played after THE Blues Band led by legendary blues afficionado Paul Jones, a tough act to follow on a Blues bill).

Ben King blew up the spot last night cranking out some awesome and very tasteful fiery licks with a simple signal chain: brain >>>Telecaster >>> Vox AC30.

Moving forward to February 2010

26th Feb We’re playing at the legendary 100 Club

March and May 2010

We will be doing 2 US tours. Looks like we’re playing with various acts including Canned Heat and Hendrix’s primary influence Buddy Guy. More dates coming in… Watch this space.
